Who are you?

Matthew McCahill, owner

How old is your business?

Almost 6 months old

How long have you been in the neighborhood?

About a half a year

Why the West Loop?

Opportunity knocked and I walked through the door.

What are your top challenges in growing your business?

People not respecting the rules provided by government and being forced to enforce them which goes completely against our hospitality nature of trying to please people.

Why did you join the West Central Association?

Interest in networking with local residents and business leaders.

What makes your business unique?

We are surrounded by Michelin star restaurants and top notch venues and have been able to create a great atmosphere offering something different and comfortable in the area. That and we have the best pizza around along with the most expensive PB&J sandwich in the world!!

What gets you up in the morning?

The feeling of success drives me to keep going everyday.

What’s your favorite part of the West Loop?

Peoria Street of course! I do love Fulton Market street as well with its cobblestone streets and outdoor dining.

What does the future look like?

We just opened GG's also known as Grapes and Grains Whiskey Wine bar and next year we will open our second floor space. We can't decide if it should be a Dueling Piano Bar or something else so please ask our neighbors to give us their two cents. We are also looking to open a McCahill's Pub soon. Since my brother Josh and I are two Irish brothers- we really have to have an Irish bar. Plus, I make some pretty good bar food, so you know the food is going to be on point!
